"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Hey Dave, sorry I never sent that email. I was going to bug you with that, but then I decided to do it on an Art Director instead because I thought would be more interesting of a presentation! Yeah...not like you read your comments anyway though, do ya? DO YA?
